Happy new year or something.
So the weekly woss weports have ended and so has another year.
I can't say it was the best year of my life, but then none of the previous ones were either.
Here are some useful websites recently sent to me by my Brighton correspondant.

Looking for a pen? Look no further than Pen Island:

Need a therapist? Try:

And there is an Italian Power company:

Finally we have the Mole Station Native Nursery, based in New South Wales:

So what else has been happening on planet dom? Well my dinky smart car is currently suffering from a flat battery so it could be any one of the follwing faults:
1. battery is knackered
2. the alternator is knackered or something is stopping it charging the battery
3. the battery is getting charged ok, but something else is draining its power while the car is switched off
4. any combination of 2 of the above
5. any combination of 3 of the above
The following information may help narrow the fault down further:
1. I drove from Scotland to Yorkshire last friday arriving in the evening and the car was fine and started fine on each of my stops.
2. On saturday afternoon I tried to start the car, but the battery was dead. I bump started it, but didn't have time to drive it around so I just parked it at the top of a hill near my house so I could bump start it again next morning prior to taking it out to get petrol, jet wash it and give it a run to recharge the battery. After parking at the top of the hill I tried restarting the engine with the key and it started ok.
3. On Sunday the battery was flat, as expected, so I tried to bump start it going down the hill, but I didn't manage to get it in first gear so it didn't start. So the car was at the bottom of the hill with a flat battery. Once I had got someone to help push it back up I got it started and drove to the petrol station.
4. I had to switch the engine off to put petrol in, but it started ok after I paid.
5. I left the engine running while I jet washed it and then I went for at least a 20 minute run.
6. The battery was flat again on Monday morning, but this time I managed to bump start it first tikme down the hill.
7. On the way back to Scotland I stopped at the services and was out of the car for about 10 minutes. When I tried to start it it was flat so I managed to bump it again.
8. I had to stop for petrol near the end of my journey and the car started ok with the key after paying.
9. I parked on a bit of a hill outside work and after 2 hours I tried to start with the key and it was flat again.
On the basis of all this I am getting a new battery fitted tomorrow and am hoping everything will go back to normal again.
