After my plane touched down this morning the airhostess welcomed us all to Edinburgh. In my opinion someone who is traveling to a place with you is not the right person to welcome you to that place when you get there. I think only somebody who was already there before you arrived should have the authority to perform such a ritual.
You could argue that as she was sitting in a seat nearer the front than the passengers she did get there first, but I think the people sitting over the wheels got there first as that was the first bit of the plane to touch the ground.
But, to avoid all confusion I think that a time limit of 5 minutes should be set. So you can only welcome someone to a place if you got there at least 5 minutes before they did. That would avoid all unnecessary confusion.
In other news as I drove through Mid calder last friday morning on my way to work I noticed a large number of squashed milk cartons and big squashed plastic milk containers on the side of the road in a large puddle of milk. I am pleased to note that I didn't see anyone in the area with either red eyes or watery eyes.
